Feedback from organisations and partners regarding our consultant-led services and collaborative working.
To whom it may concern: Pioneer have been absolutely instrumental in helping the Northern Care Alliance in reducing our waiting times and elective backlog, they mobilised a safe, quality driven service to our population. The initial discussions with Pioneer were pragmatic and full of detailed information around how to mobilise the service and we were able to mobilise within 4 weeks of the initial discussions. Pioneer Healthcare LTD support was crucial in helping the Northern Care Alliance with our Elective Recovery backlog issues, stepping up various services across 4 sites for both insourcing and outsourcing work and we are now working with Pioneer Healthcare LTD for a longer term plan to help the NCA continue to achieve our national waiting time requirements

To whom it may concern: North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust (NWAFT) contracted Pioneer Healthcare in April 2024 to help reduce the waiting lists across ophthalmology and multiple other surgical specialties. The services required were full theatre teams to support 3 x mid-week fallow theatre lists each week, and full consultant-led teams to support weekly ophthalmology outpatient clinics for adults and paediatrics. Pioneer ensured a rapid mobilisation with onsite visits conducted to meet the relevant service leads. The fallow theatre lists commenced within 12 days, and the ophthalmology clinics commenced within 15 days of instruction from the Trust. Both workforce streams have continued to run as planned since the inaugural commencement dates. The Pioneer teams work very closely with NWAFT staff to ensure the services are effective and have assisted at very short notice with requests for additional theatre support, some within 24 hours notice which have been fulfilled. The support from Pioneer has had a tremendous impact on our waiting lists and more importantly the feedback from patients has been very positive.

To whom it may concern: As requested, I offer a reference for the services provided by Pioneer Healthcare (Totally Group) at East Lancashire Hospitals Trust. Pioneer Healthcare (Pioneer) has provided an insourcing service covering two endoscopy rooms at ELHT since October 2021 to assist in the COVID-19 pandemic recovery. The service remains current. In this time Pioneer have provided full teams including endoscopists, nursing and HCA staff members to run the two rooms independently of the local teams. A nurse co-ordinator is also provided to ensure that the day runs smoothly and to ensure necessary referrals are generated post procedure. In the time the Pioneer team have worked with the ELHT there has become a strong relationship between both the staff that are working within the department and also the management and co-ordinators that organise the lists and staff each week. I personally meet with Pioneer each week via Microsoft teams to discuss outcomes and concerns and have always found Pioneer to be proactive and responsive. The quality and safety management meets the needs for our service. Pioneer meet JAG and local governance standards and also meet the clinical needs of the service following local standard operating practices. Where Standards are changed locally, they are fast to adapt their service to meet the standard expected. In times of additional pressure Pioneer offer further support including bank Holidays and this year supported throughout the Christmas period without any difficulties. Overall, I personally consider the Pioneer service to meet what I would expect from an insource provider. Their communication is particularly good which makes working with them efficient and smooth. I would not have any concerns using this insource provider again based on what we have experienced in the past 2 years. My role is the endoscopy Matron and I manage the quality and safety of the department and ensure that clinical standards are maintained both locally and with any external companies that provide work for us.
